Frequently Asked Questions
Q What kind of control can I have over how my data is used?
A Cedexis differentiates between public data, which is anonymized and aggregated across all customer traffic, and private data, which is collected by a single customer and available only to them.
Q How are providers and networks evaluated?
A We utilize a ‘performance ecology’ which allows our customers to capture and optimize against the widest possible range of business requirements. Our customers can develop their own context around the data, and make that data actionable in the best way for their business and objectives.
Q Does Cedexis employ bandwidth brokering or CDN aggregation?
A No. Cedexis is a neutral 3rd party. We do not provide or re-sell any CDN or bandwidth services.
Q Can I use Cedexis to evaluate providers during an RFP or bake-off?
A Yes. Cedexis can be used to better understand the real-world performance and availability of Cloud and Content Delivery Network providers, but the real value is having access to that data all the time in order to enable automated, real-time optimization of your website infrastructure.
Q What do I need to start collecting data?
A Getting started with Cedexis involves placing a small javascript tag on your website, which will enable the capture of the data. After that, you can determine if you want just the public data, or if you want to tailor the system to report on your private data.
Q Does the Cedexis code cause any performance issues?
A No. The Cedexis tracking code for your website is light-weight and will not interfere with either your site’s load performance or affect other javascript code you may have on the site already.
Q Why should I share my data?
A The insights gained by using aggregated data from many sites would be impossible to obtain by keeping your data separate. Pooled data from end users lets you see the big picture and is more valuable than just the localized data that is collected from a single site.
