Portland, Ore. – August 1, 2017 Cedexis, the leader in crowd-optimized application and content delivery for clouds, CDNs and data centers, today announced that it was shortlisted as a finalist in two categories for the CSI Awards. Cedexis’s Openmix solution has been selected as a finalist in the Best Content-on-Demand Solution category, while Radar is up for an award in the Best Monitoring or Network Management Solution category. The CSI Awards is designed to recognize and reward innovation and excellence in the cable, satellite, broadcast, IPTV, telco, broadband/OTT video, mobile TV and associated sectors.

“Any time we get validation from a distinguished third-party organization against our closest competitors, it feels great,” said Simon Jones, Evangelist and Head of Marketing at Cedexis. “For years, Openmix and Radar have dramatically helped our customers tackle their network and internet performance needs while keeping up with the rapid shifts in software-defined infrastructure. We’re excited to be shortlisted for these awards, and thrilled that our hard work and dedication to evolve the application delivery market is paying off.”

Cedexis’s Openmix solution improves the availability, latency, and throughput of application delivery across all types of digital outlets, from websites, to downloads, video and mobile apps, turning data in action in real-time. Openmix is the only scriptable, user configurable, data driven global server load balancing platform, aiding innovative customers around the world to realize the potential of multi- and hybrid-platform architectures.

Cedexis’s Radar community collects real user measurements from visitors to thousands of popular website and mobile applications. The Radar community gives members access to Cloud and CDN Availability, Latency and Throughput performance reporting, as well as streaming video Quality of Services metrics, as collected by their own individual users and the aggregate Radar community. Cedexis is currently collecting more than fourteen billion measurements per day, and Radar is the acknowledged leader in CDN and cloud performance metrics.

The CSI Awards, which are celebrating their 15th year, recognize excellence in the broadcast, video, OTT and IoT sectors and are organised by CSI Magazine (Cable and Satellite International Magazine). The winners will be determined by an independent judging panel and will be announced on Friday 15 September 2017 at IBC in Amsterdam. Cedexis Buffer Killer Wins TVTechnology Best Product Innovations Award

When we released the Buffer Killer, we knew it was going to have a very real impact on the industry. For the first time, real user measurements (RUM) could be used to track and analyze video quality of experience (QoE), and to re-direct traffic to the right CDNs or Origins through an easily-configured interface. We’ve been working with a group of extraordinary early adopters, who have helped us build the product into a powerhouse for guaranteeing world-class QoE, while managing for cost.

It was a real honor, therefore, for us to be notified this week that the Buffer Killer had been awarded a Best Product Innovations 2016 award by TVTechnology. Finding ourselves standing alongside industry powerhouses like IBM and Verizon was humbling, but exciting. It is a clear sign that we’re onto something special here.

If you haven’t already looked at our Buffer Killer solution, you can learn all about it here. The short version is that we are now collecting in Radar not only the community RUM data you already know, but also video-specific metrics, like video start success, bitrates and re-buffering ratios. These then feed Openmix to drive real-time traffic decisions, moving between CDNs, origins, and private clouds, to deliver problem-free streaming for consumers, even when the Internet is at its busiest.

We suspect what the judges liked about the Buffer Killer was its flexibility. Using an easily-accessible UI, it can be configured to make really sophisticated decisions – like weighting decisions based on video start success rates or monthly purchasing commitments, so that consumers get not just the best QoE, but rather the best QoE that makes financial sense. The visualization of all the data follows the high standard of Radar Live, and makes it easy to spot the correlations between different metrics.  For instance, this graph clearly shows the relationship between throughput and bitrate:

bufferkillerreport

Slicing and dicing to see how things are going in a particular ISP, CDN, or geography is a breeze, and we’re hearing good things all around.

If you’re interested in learning more about the (now award-winning!) Buffer Killer, drop us a line, or catch us at our upcoming conference and trade show events – we’ll be at CES and would love to connect there.

Three awards in less than a week for Cedexis!

In only one week Cedexis received no fewer than 3 different prizes that highlighted our success, dynamism and effectiveness in the digital industry.
We would like to express our gratitude to the different organizations that rewarded us and of course to come back to these different events.

On the 15th of October we received the French Tech Pass from the French Tech organization and the Minister responsible for digital affairs, Axelle Lemaire. Given to high-performance developing companies, this award represents strong recognition from the market and a real help for international development.

On the same day, as part of “SME Ambition Day,” which helps gathering all the participants in digital SMEs development, Cedexis was honored to receive the “Champion Systematic Paris Region 2015”. Rewarded for its ability to be innovative and its increased growth in the digital ecosystem, Cedexis is now part of the Competitiveness Pole’s Champions Club for the Parisian Region.

Last but not least, after having been invited to the Digital Tech Tour Summit in Lisbon to present a project to investors, we were proud to receive the 2015 TechTour prize. Rewarded for outstanding results and high potential, Cedexis was delighted to be part of the 36 European companies selected for this event.

The addition of three prestigious accolades in quick succession is testament to our young company’s influence, which is a rapidly growing force to be reckoned with, but no company can ‘go it alone’. As such, we need to thank our teams and our clients especially for helping us achieve our success.

Cedexis-powered NetAnalyze/NetOptimize by Deutsche Telekom is 2015 Best Analytics/QoS solution.

Screen-Shot-2015-09-10-at-8.49.05-AM1

A few weeks ago the Streaming Media Europe community awarded Deutsche Telekom with first place for the best Analytics/QoS Solution of the year for its NetAnalyze/NetOptimize solution.

“Thanks to Cedexis’s technology NetAnalyze/NetOptimize solution provides an innovative web performance strategy for online video and greater user experience. “ Joan Eva Sainte-Claire, Marketing Manager, Deutsche Telekom

The solution is based on a dual approach: Crowd-sourced Analytics combined with Performance Optimization technologies.

NetAnalyze monitors CDN and Cloud providers from all around the world; taking around 6 billion measurements every day directly from end-users.

NetOptimize uses this data to redirect end-users in real time to the best provider possible, whilst taking into account business needs and requirements for any web or mobile video content editor.

The NetAnalyze/NetOptimize, which is based on Cedexis’ technology, cuts down buffering, dramatically decrease rebuffering, ensures top performance, high availability and improved user experience at the best price.

Its 2015 – and Cedexis is Once Again Named a Streaming Media 100 Company: The One Hundred Companies that Matter Most in Online Video

Once again Cedexis has been named a Streaming Media Top 100 Companies that matter!

StreamingMEdia100

We are really excited and honored to be named a Stream Media “Top 100 companies that matter”.  In particular with our new “Buffer Killer”  solution we are seeing a marked upturn in clients using Cedexis to deploy online Video.

One of the more exciting innovations of the Buffer Killer is the HTTP interface into either the CMS or the Video PLayer –  documented here.  This is a major innovation that will all0w many Cedexis users to implement new and interesting architectures for their video. We look forward to participating in this new generation of advanced infrastructure – better, stronger, more resilient and FASTER.

Video encoding has evolved from 720p to 1080p and now 4K; the demands on Internet Service Providers, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and Data Center/Cloud provider networks have become significant bottlenecks that interrupt the seamless delivery of high-resolution content. Cedexis customers have embraced a strategy of using multiple CDNs and/or cloud providers to avoid single points of failure or congestion.   On average, Cedexis video customers have experienced a 45% improvement in buffering; 18% improvement in video start-time; and a decrease in video failures of up to 44%.
